Jill’s Story Hi, my name is Jill Sisco and in 2005 I was diagnosed with a rare condition called Acromegaly. I actually overproduce growth hormone. It's diagnosed at a rate of three per million, per year, here in the U.S. Within my community, we see that insurance companies will use any reason that they can to try to deny treatment to patients. And so, you know, what we do is we try to help guide patients through that and really help them navigate it effectively because we need our medications, we need medical treatment. Without that our quality of life suffers. And so our mortality rate goes up significantly. Compliance is a really big thing within the patient experience. And so often for patients, they're not compliant and it's not by choice. It's because they're having to deal with obstacles. Typically what we see are delays. They'll say, “Oh there's an issue with the pre-authorization,” or “Your doctor needs to do something.” And then you speak to the doctor, and the doctor says, “I've done it, you know, ten times already. Why isn't it going through?” Working with some of the larger specialty pharmacies that truly you're just a number to them. And it is heartbreaking, every single day that we don't get our medication, we hurt. I'm not any team, pharmaceutical company or even specialty pharmacy. I'm team patient. And as long as companies are doing right by the patient, I will always go to bat for them. And what I've learned about Anovo is that they're willing to go the extra mile. They really try to help remove the burden of living with a disease. For instance, they're very proactive in what they do for patients. If there's any issues that happen, they try to stop it even before there's any delays. They will reach out to your physician if they need to without even bringing you into the loop, which causes anxiety. They really try to make sure that they keep you adherent to the schedule and that it is as easy for you as possible with living with this. That's how it helps improve the patient experience of living with the disease. Every single instance that I have heard with patients that have dealt with Anovo … it's been positive. I wouldn't be here if I had heard negative things regarding Anovo. Point blank. For manufacturers that are considering, especially pharmacy, you need to consider what kind of service you want to give your patients. Do you want to make sure that they're compliant? Do you want to make sure that they're not having to go round and round with the specialty pharmacy regarding the treatment? In my opinion, it's the drug manufacturer that needs to take control of the situation and go with a company that truly does care about the patients, and wants to give the patients the best experience possible. Patients shouldn’t have to chase specialty pharmacies, to do the right thing. And Anovo is a company that always does the right thing for patients because they put patients first. So if you're a drug manufacturer and your patients aren't getting the quality of service that they deserve, consider switching to Anovo because patients are the people who benefit most from this. And we need to work collaboratively in order to live our best lives.
