Scott’s Story
When I was a sophomore in high school, I started noticing weakness in my legs and my arms. It became even hard to walk across campus. 

I used to be a pretty good athlete, even competing at the state level in lacrosse.

Everything that I love to do, I could no longer do. I couldn't go hang out with friends, I couldn't participate in sports, started missing a lot of school, and I began to really struggle with depression.

In the middle of all the uncertainty and surviving through life, I met Jenny in 2016. We got married shortly after. We would go for runs. Like when we first met.

But then his medical symptoms just got much worse where he couldn’t walk up the stairs, couldn't really use his hands to do work.

I felt like I was letting her down in ways of not being able to participate in life.

That’s when I hit bottom and hit desperation and decided, like, I have to find a solution to this.

I was finally diagnosed with Lambert-Eaton Myasthenic Syndrome in summer of 2020 after a very long and challenging journey. I eventually found a neurologist that was willing to help me and really just believed in what I was telling them.

They helped me get approved for a one month supply of the therapy that my doctor recommended, to see if it would help me, and that was one of the biggest turning points in my life.

The change that, that produced in my life and my relationship with Jenny was just like the cloud cover just broke and were finally able to just dream and do fun things together.

Just a whole ‘nother side of him came out. More energy, super playful, not so fatigued all the time, just smiling more.

One of the great things about Anovo is that they're specialists in not only my disease, but also in the medication that I take. Anovo did just a phenomenal job of managing the complexities of working with the specialty drug manufacturer, working with my insurance. That process has been absolutely, like, one of the easiest experiences that I've ever had in my medical journey.

I've been dealing with my medical care for 15 years. It was always on Jenny and I to follow up with pharmacies and insurance. It was always on us. 

But with Anovo, they handle all of that for me and it happens just seamlessly. I've never felt like just some number in some big company’s patient book.

The sky's the limit for us. We can go new places, we can dream up new ideas and really live a full, totally fulfilling life.

For over ten years, I've had to be my own advocate with doctors, with insurance. Since finding Anovo, they've become just an incredible advocate for me and taking so much of that burden of managing my care. It's a huge relief.
